There are lots of other motorcycle accessories you should familiarise yourself with, which we’ll list here. These range between very important and must have to gadgets that are useful and fun to have.

  • Locks

If you’re leaving your bike outside, you’ll want a good secure lock to make sure it’s safe. You may also be leaving your helmet, and you can even get a lock for that, too. Get a good sturdy one that’s made of chain links wrapped in material for the best quality. It’s also a good idea to leave it somewhere public and accessible so there’s even less chance of it being stolen.

  • Bike cover

For those rainy days, you’ll want to invest in a bike cover to protect your baby from rust and weather damage. This is a small price that is well worth it.

  • Tool kit

It’s a good idea to carry one of these around, especially if you like taking longer trips. These can be quite compact and can sort you out for a quick fix up without needing to call the AA.

  • Tire inflator

Another neat and tidy accessory that can prove its weight in gold. Tires get flat, it’s a fact of life, so don’t get caught short when you’re out and about.

  • Leg guard

This can be a life saver when it counts. This simple feature hooks onto the sides of your bike and can prevent your legs from getting dragged under the wheels in an accident.

  • Bandana

If your helmet doesn’t cover your mouth area, a simple bandana can prove very effective for protecting your face and neck from the weather – and bugs.

  • Saddle bags

Going on a trip? Pop everything into saddle bags which sit at the rear of the bike on either side. Make sure the weight is easily distributed to prevent from tipping over.

  • Phone mount

This isn’t meant for you to text and ride, but for GPS you may need to follow as you’re riding. You can follow along without having to dig in your pocket for your phone.

  • Sports camera/GoPro

This can be a fun gadget to film yourself on the road, but it could also prove useful for those tricky incidents and insurance payouts to prove who was in the wrong.
